Ep 132: Talking Greenlights and Turkey with Matthew McConaughey

We follow up last weeks great discussion with the Bourbon Junkies with the ineffable Matthew McConaughey. We talk about his new memoir, Greenlights. We discuss family, marriage, raising kids and embarrassing ourselves in front of other celebrities.

We of course talk about Wild Turkey and I pitch to him a couple ideas that Todd Grube and I came up with. Todd rendered a few graphics for our pitch and you know what.... I think you'd be surprised at his response.

Matthew was an interesting discussion and his book can be found everywhere books are sold.

Ep 130 Full Time Dusty Bourbon Hunters with Robyn MacAdams

Over the last few years there are a handful of diehard bourbon hunters out there... less than you would think. People who take weeks and months off from work to travel all over North America visiting every single liquor store, one state at a time.

Today we sit down with one of those individuals. Todd Grube makes another appearance on the show as we talk to Robyn MacAdams. A dusty bourbon hunter who has visited every single liquor store in the state of Texas as he walks us through his methods, items he has found and how he covers the entire US, one state at a time.

A true and absolute crazy person always looking for his next big score and I am proud to call him a friend.

Ep 127 The Jim Murray Vulgarity. A Conversation on Sexism in Whiskey

As we come to an end in our first ever Pappy Hunt, we reflect on the last few weeks and after the most recent news of the Bars in Texas STILL on lockdown, we wonder if there is light at the end of this tunnel.

This past week a firestorm broke out over Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible. His reviews are under fire with accusations of sexism and lewd vocabulary.

Many on social media defending his as not being sexist but just cringe worthy.
Either way this issue hint at a deeper issue within the industry and today we are joined by three women to discuss sexism and misogyny within the whiskey world and how to move forward.

What are some of the ways the industry can show  and attract a larger female audience without pandering to stereotypes.

Blair and Janet from the Whiskey Women Podcast and Dusti Rhodes joins me for a chat on the subject over a few drinks.

A good time was had by all.
